The Key, Man, and the Beast
A tear rolls out of the corner of her eye,
And into the palm of my apologies.
Hot driven mad I raced.
The cool rain splashed madly into my eyes,
                                                             /
Like a raging sandstorm. ~
Her tears fall languidly over the town.
Pelting my back,
Like a constant reminder that I shall never return,
And can never return the key I stole
From underneath her pillow.
Striving to reach the cage,
The cage that incarcerates the beast in every man.
My mouth began to salivate at the thought,
The thought of becoming whole,
The thought of completing the circle.
To ride the back of the beast.
With this key in my palm,
My soul shall now be free.
Free to do as it wishes,
With no secondary ties.
And only I shall rule my life.
Not even death
Can end my reign
